博根中文學校家長會
歡迎新家庭及會務簡介  PTA Position list and description:

親愛的家長們：   
我非常榮幸在此代表「博根中文學校家長會」, 歡迎您的子女來本校就讀, 與我們一起學習中文及中華文化. 在現今的社會中, 中文的學習日漸重要, 且需要長時間的投入與訓練, 我們學校由啟蒙班到大學先修班一共有十班之多, 對我來說家長與同學們就好像一家人一樣, 一起在學校中成長學習，我個人身為博根家長至今亦已三年, 在此先介紹一些博根家長會所安排的活動, 讓您對學校及家長會有多一點的了解：

(一) PTA每月會議:
家長會將在每個月的第二個星期天於第三堂課(3:00pm)時間在餐廳舉行會議, 歡迎各位熱心家長前來賜教. 家長會每年都需要大量熱心家長的參與及支持, 如果您有興趣加入, 請與我聯絡 (Sharon Ma, Tel: 201-262-8891, E-mail: sharonma@msn.com).

(二) 歡慶中秋活動:
本學年10月6日星期五為中秋節, 家長會將於10月1日第三堂課(3pm)在餐廳安排中秋慶祝活動, 屆時將有中秋故事介紹及舞蹈表演, 還有月餅, 歡迎大家前來品嚐。

(三) 中國新年慶祝活動:
本學年將於2007年2月舉辦中國新年慶祝活動, 這是每年最盛大的節目, 有精美食品義賣、節目表演、及大抽獎等, 歡迎本校師生家長邀請親朋好友一同來慶祝中國新年.

(四) 謝師宴:
每年六月家長會將安排謝師宴, 感謝老師們一年辛苦的教導, 希望各位能踴躍參加。

(五) 頒獎典禮:
每年六月, 家長會將與學校一同舉辦室外結業頒獎典禮, 並免費提供午餐及遊戲。

除了以上數項重要活動之外，我們並將提供下列服務：

(一) 家長會聯絡夾
我們將會為每家庭製作一份聯絡夾, 每月收發一次, 並將學校所有重要的通知及資料放入其中, 如此即使您生活繁忙沒有時間來學校, 我們也能與您保持良好的溝通及聯繫.

(二) 超市禮券
這是家長會一項非常重要的募款運作, 我們今年將提供四家超市(金豐King-Fung,
Han-Ah-Ruem, ShopRite, & PathMark)的禮券, 希望您能踴躍購買支持學校.

(三) 家長課程
每星期我們有太極拳、有氧舞蹈、及國畫課程提供給各位家長, 還有其他各項單次的課程如中文打字、日式壽司製作、大學學費講座等, 讓您在帶孩子來上中文課的同時, 也有機會充實自己, 請注意聯絡夾內的通知, 並歡迎大家踴躍報名。

(四) 小吃部 
基於家長會的服務原則, 我們將以非常優惠的價格提供糖果、小吃、便當、咖啡、汽水、及水等, 請到餐廳購買, 同時更提供免費熱茶給全校師生家長享用。

(五) 中文商店
為提高同學們來中文學校上課的興趣, 家長會將提供老師們在中文商店的購物點數給同學們作為獎勵. 每次同學們出席都有基本點數, 另外在課堂上有傑出表現時, 也會得到點數作為鼓勵. 中文商店每學期開張兩次, 讓同學們以累積的點數換取物品, 如文具玩具日常用品等.

Dear Parents,

I represent the PTA welcome your child to our school for his/her Chinese language education.  I am sure he/she already has a good start.  To learn Chinese language and culture needs a long time of training.  Our school offers more than ten classes from Pre-K to Advance Classes.  We grow together as we walk through this training path, students and parents are like a big family to us.

I would like to introduce to you some of the services that the PTA provides our students and their families:

1. PTA meeting: 
   Each month, PTA will host a parent meeting at the cafeteria to discuss the upcoming events and any related issues.  We welcome everyone to attend the meeting.  Please check with your classparent for the meeting date each month.
2. Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration: 
   Each year, PTA provides moon cakes and beverages 
   on the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration to share this wonderful Chinese tradition with
   BCS families.  This year, it will be on October 1st at 3:00 pm.
3. Chinese New Year Celebration
   This is one of the biggest events during the school year.  It contains Food Selling, Talent Show/Chinese Cultural Performance and The Big Raffles.  It is always an exciting and extraordinary day for us.  Please bring your family and friends to celebrate this special holiday with us.  This coming celebration is set on February 25th, 2007.
4. Teacher Appreciation Dinner:
   At the end of the school year, PTA will arrange the Teacher Appreciation Dinner to thank our teachers for their patience and guidance to our students.  Hope we will see you there.
5. Graduation Party/Picnic:
   In Mid June, Bergen Chinese School will give out awards to outstanding students in the Graduation Party/Picnic.  All BCS families are invited to attend.  PTA provides free lunch and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Besides the above events, PTA also offers the following services throughout the year:

1. PTA folder: 
   In order to keep you updated with the PTA news, we provide each family a folder which will be sent home once a month through one of your child.  Please go through the information in this folder and return the folder to the teacher in the following week.
2. Supermarket Gift Certificates: 
   PTA carries gift certificates from King Fung (Chinese supermarket), Han-Ah-Ruem (Korean/Asian supermarket), ShopRite & PathMark as one of our fundraiser.  PTA receives 5% rebate from these supermarkets for every $100.00 gift certificates sales.  Please order your gift certificates through the order form or come to our desk for details.
3. Adult Classes: 
   We offer many different classes for parents from Tai Chi to Dumpling Classes.  Please refer to the information that we send home or come to the PTA desk for details.
4. Snack Bar:
   In the cafeteria, our Snack Bar offers cookies, chips, candies, hot food, juice boxes, & water for sale.  We also provide hot Chinese tea for everyone for free.  Please come and enjoy.
5. Chinese Store:
   PTA created a “Point System” as an incentive to encourage our students to come to Chinese school.  Teachers mark points on the Point Record Sheets for students who attend their classes each week.  Teachers also give out extra Point Coupons to students who participated in activities.  Twice in each semester, PTA operates The Chinese Store for students to exchange goods with the points that they have earned.  There is a big selection of items like stationeries, toys, daily use items and gifts etc…..

PTA needs to raise fund each year in order to provide such services to the BCS families.  We also need many volunteers to help to carry out such events and services.  If you think you can lend a hand, please contact us!
